Business traveling used to be glamorous. Then it became tedious. Nowadays you need to be able to work as you travel – normally in less than ideal circumstances and with devices that need power.

Our client was an electrical company who had just invented the first self-charging wheels for suitcases. The problem? Even though their invention was solving a fundamental problem for business travellers, the design of their suitcases wasn’t capturing the imagination.

Our vision was to go back to the iconic travel trunks that allowed you to set-up shop with your own comforts wherever you wanted.

Your home in a box. Or in this case – a light and self-charging mobile office.

THE WORLD'S FIRST LUGGAGE WITH POWER GENERATING WHEELS

Escape featured the world’s first and only patented electric generating spinner wheels, providing continuous power to the 8000mAh detachable power bank. At a regular walking speed, it can provide power similar to a 1A wall adapter.

Your desk, anytime, anywhere

One of the key elements of an office is, of course, a surface to work on. We completely redesigned the ESCAPE’s structure so the top surface was completely flush. Travellers can place it next to their seat and work comfortably, anytime, anywhere.

Passport, boarding pass, wallet, power bank, keys, frequent flyer cards, pen, sunglasses, phone...  Thanks to its unique construction, ESCAPE has an easy-access top compartment to keep your essentials organized in one place that's easy to reach.

FRONT POCKET WITH MAGNETIC DOOR

We added a simple magnetic door to give travellers easy access to magazines or books without unlocking the main compartment. And since we like clean design, the hinges are integrated in the design of the magnetic door which also covers the TSA lock.

A DEDICATED COMPARTMENT FOR YOUR DIGITAL DEVICES

During security checks there's no need to open the whole carry-on: simply unlock the TSA lock to partially open the zipper and slide devices out.

A DECADES-LONG PUZZLE FINALLY SOLVED

The toiletry case always defeats any packing strategy. No more! During our design phase, we found the space between the wheels to be just the right size. We tailored a niche in the base that snugly fits the toiletry case, leaving you a main compartment with lots of space and easy to pack.

NO MORE WRINKLED SUITS

ESCAPE complies with the hand-luggage dimension regulations of all airlines. But to avoid wrinkled suits in such a compact space, we also designed a garment bag that you can hook onto ESCAPE. Fold it over, fasten it and you’re ready to go.

ELEGANT HYDROPHOBIC FABRIC

Dropped your coffee? Caught in the rain? We made sure the fabric used in ESCAPE was highly hydrophobic and easy to clean with warm water and a damp cloth.

What’s more, it looks the part too. With quality fabrics chosen to complement your business attire, this carry-on looks like it rolled straight out of a bespoke tailor’s shop.

SMART LUGGAGE WITH A SMART APP

We also worked with our client to link the luggage to its own smartphone app, creating an even more sophisticated mobile office. Features include a battery and signal dashboard that shows the status of the smart power bank, a movement notifier that will send you a notification if your luggage has moved, and even the latest and most updated exchange rates when you visit a new country.
